How to Collect Homework From Students
Use the same homework collection routine each time: one destination, consistent identification and a quick completeness check. For handwritten work, explain how to photograph pages clearly. For typed work, state whether students should enter answers directly or attach a file.
Small submission errors create repeated follow-up
An unnamed photograph, a missing second page or a file that requires access permission can delay review more than the homework itself. Give students a brief pre-submission check so these problems are caught before the work reaches you.
Establish the return routine
Tell students to include their usual name, roll number and class so work can be matched reliably.
For handwritten pages, require visible question numbers, readable lighting and the correct page order.
Ask students to review their answers and attachments before submitting through the agreed destination.
Compare received work with the class list and follow up privately on missing or unreadable submissions.
Put it into practice
A student pre-submission check
“Is my name correct? Are all assigned questions included? Can someone read the smallest writing? Are both pages attached?” This short check is useful for younger students and reduces avoidable messages after the deadline.
Before you share
- Do not interpret a missing online entry as refusal to complete homework before checking for an access issue.
- Separate “received” from “reviewed” in your own tracking.
How EduVetta helps
EduVetta's assignment link accepts written answers and attachments such as photos, PDFs and documents. The teacher sees submissions together, can add feedback and adjust marks, and can export results for comparison with the class list.
