WhatsApp for teachers

Answer WhatsApp and post to your batch channels from one dashboard.

Link the WhatsApp you already use by scanning a QR code, the way you would for WhatsApp Web, and your chats and groups appear in your teacher dashboard. Each batch can have its own WhatsApp channel that students follow from an invite link, so class updates reach them without anyone handing over a phone number.

Why it helps

Class updates reach the whole batch without collecting phone numbers, and replies stop waiting until you pick up your phone.

01

Linked like WhatsApp Web

Scan a QR code from Profile settings with your phone, or enter a pairing code instead. Messages go out from your own number, and your chats stay on your phone as well.

02

Chats and groups in reach

Read and reply to personal chats and groups, search your chats, start a new chat by number or create a group with the contacts you choose. Photos, files and voice notes that others send are marked in the thread so you know to open them on your phone, and your replies are text.

03

A channel for every batch

With WhatsApp linked, a new batch gets its own WhatsApp channel, and an existing batch can have one from its menu. Students follow it through an invite link, so no student phone numbers are needed, and you post updates to your channels from the dashboard.

04

Lessons and live links delivered

When you post a saved lecture to its batch, the summary goes to the batch’s WhatsApp channel. During a live class on the board, send the join link to WhatsApp chats, groups and channels from the live panel, with the batch’s channel already selected.

From first step to follow-through

Three steps from idea to class.

  1. 1

    Link WhatsApp

Open Profile settings and scan the QR code with WhatsApp on your phone, or use a pairing code. Your chats then appear in the WhatsApp section of the dashboard.

  2. 2

    Set up the channels

Create a batch with WhatsApp linked and its channel is made for you, or add one later from the batch’s menu. Share the invite link with your students.

  3. 3

    Reply and post

Answer chats and groups, post an update to a channel, and send a live class link to the people who need it.

Good to know before you start.

Do students have to share their phone numbers?

No. Students follow a batch’s WhatsApp channel through its invite link, so you never collect their numbers to reach the class. Personal chats and groups work as they do on your phone.

Will messages come from an EduVetta number?

Messages go out from the WhatsApp account you link, under your own name and number. Batch channels are created under your account too.

Can I send photos or files from the dashboard?

Replies from the dashboard are text. Photos, files and voice notes that others send are shown as labelled placeholders in the thread, and you open them on your phone.

Can I use it to message all my students at once?

WhatsApp here is for your own conversations and your batch channels, not for bulk messages to lists of numbers. To reach a whole class, post in its channel, which students follow through the invite link.
