How Parents Can Review Student-Generated Practice Test Scores

Ambitious students frequently create custom practice tests to rehearse for board exams. Seeing their self-test attempts gives parents insight into their exam readiness.

Self-study tests taken in paper notebooks leave no progress trail

When students solve practice papers on scrap sheets, parents cannot tell whether the work was graded accurately or if mistakes were reviewed with model answers.

Review digital self-test performance records

  1. Open your linked child's Self-Study tab and select Practice Tests.

  2. Review tests created by your child from textbook chapters, notes, or videos.

  3. Inspect the score achieved, time spent, and written model answer comparisons.

  4. Encourage your child to re-test tricky topics where self-test scores were below 75%.

Put it into practice

Example: Reviewing a student's mock chemistry test

A parent sees their son built a 25-mark thermodynamics practice test and scored 20/25, noting that he reviewed model answers for the two numericals he missed.

Worth checking first

  • Encourage students to take practice tests under strict timed conditions.
  • Congratulate your child for taking the initiative to test themselves before official exams.
