How to Restore Accidentally Removed Student Batches and Class Rosters

Accidentally deleting a batch card can seem like an irreversible nightmare that severs connections to dozens of students. Recycle bin restoration brings the whole roster back.

Deleting a batch severs student connections and class history

If a batch roster is permanently deleted, teachers must generate new invite codes, re-screen twenty students, and reconstruct historical assignment connections manually.

Restore deleted batches with full roster integrity

  1. Open Content Recovery from your teacher account navigation menu.

  2. Find the deleted batch entry and verify the cohort name and student count.

  3. Check that the 15-day recovery countdown has not expired.

  4. Select Restore to reactivate the batch, re-linking all enrolled students and course files.

Put it into practice

Example: Restoring an accidental batch deletion

A teacher cleaning old test batches accidentally deletes active 'Class 10-B'; clicking Restore in the recycle bin brings back the entire 24-student roster immediately.

Worth checking first

  • Notify batch students if they experienced temporary disconnection during the deletion.
  • Review batch settings after restoration to ensure permissions are correct.
