Timetables for institutions

Publish one timetable everyone can follow.

Set the week for each batch: the school day, lessons, breaks, teachers and rooms. Once you publish, every teacher sees their own slots and every enrolled student sees their batch’s week. A timetable can also stand on its own, linked to no batch, to plan and print. When the schedule changes, you edit it once and save.

Why it helps

Monday morning runs on the schedule you published, not on a photo of a noticeboard passed around a group chat.

01

Slots in a few clicks

Set the school day and the breaks that repeat, then set up daily slots by choosing the days, the first start time, the slot length and the gap between slots; slots step over breaks on their own. You then click each empty slot to give it a subject, teacher and venue. Classes sit at their real times, or side by side with gaps filled.

02

Clashes caught before publishing

Saving a published timetable checks each teacher’s availability across all active classes. If someone is already teaching another batch at that time, you are told which batch, day and time so you can adjust.

03

Pause without rebuilding

Switch publishing off and the timetable leaves teacher and student dashboards while your slots stay saved. Optional start and end dates let you limit a timetable to a term.

04

Paper and file copies

Print the weekly grid for the classroom door, or export it as CSV, Excel or PDF for the staff room. Both come from the saved timetable, so they match what teachers and students see.

From first step to follow-through

Set it up in three steps.

  1. 1

    Start a timetable

On the Timetables page, make a new timetable and pick the batch it is for, or keep it unlinked to plan and print. The list shows every timetable, searchable, with its batch and status.

  2. 2

    Fill the week

Generate daily slots or add them one at a time, then assign a subject, teacher and venue to each. Breaks only need a name.

  3. 3

    Publish to everyone

Turn on publishing and save. Teachers find their slots on their own timetable, and enrolled students see the schedule for their batch.

What heads usually ask.

Can I prepare a timetable before students see it?

Build and save it with publishing switched off, or keep it linked to no batch at all. Nothing reaches teachers or students until a timetable is linked to a batch and publishing is on.

Does EduVetta generate the timetable for us?

You decide who teaches what and when. EduVetta speeds up the slot layout and checks teacher availability when you publish, but it does not build or optimise the schedule for you.

What if a visiting teacher has no EduVetta account?

Enter their name manually on the slot and it appears on the class timetable. Only teachers with an institution account receive the slot on their own dashboard.
