Contact the teacher for parents

Ask the teacher, not the group chat.

When something about your child’s classes needs a word with the teacher, pick the child and every teacher of their batches is listed, whether they teach privately or at an institution. Write to the teacher directly and the reply comes back to the same place. No phone numbers to track down, and nothing relayed through your child.

Why it helps

You ask the teacher who was actually in the room, and the answer comes to you, not second-hand through your child.

A father on the sofa at home, reading a message on his phone
01

Every teacher of every child

Choose a child and the list shows the teachers of each batch they belong to, in their personal space and in their institution. Switch to another child and the list changes. You are never asked to remember which teacher takes which class.

02

A conversation, not a form

Type a question, send a photo of the homework, attach a document or record a voice note when typing is awkward. Messages arrive as they are sent, and a reply from the teacher waits as unread until you open it.

03

About one child, while the class is real

Each thread names the child it is about, so with two children in the same class nothing gets crossed. A thread stays open while that child is linked to you and in the teacher’s batch, and the teacher can close it and reopen it later.

From first step to follow-through

Three steps, and you are in.

  1. 1

    Pick the child

Open Contact the teacher and choose which child the message is about. Their teachers are listed under that child, personal batches and institution batches alike.

  2. 2

    Write to the teacher

Select a teacher and send your message, with a photo, a document or a voice note if it helps. The teacher sees it in Parent chat on their own dashboard.

  3. 3

    Come back for the reply

The teacher’s reply arrives live and waits as unread until you read it. The whole exchange stays in one thread, so next term’s question starts with the context of this one.

TeachersParent chat

What parents usually ask.

Which teachers can I message?

The teachers of the batches your linked child belongs to, in the child’s personal space and in any institution they are enrolled with. A teacher who does not teach your child does not appear.

Can I read my child’s Learning Chat with the teacher?

No. Contact the teacher is your own conversation with the teacher about your child. Learning Chat belongs to your child and stays between them and their teacher.

Where should I look before I ask?

Your child’s page has Timetable, Attendance and Performance tabs, each with a time range from today back to all time, for their personal space and each institution. Checking the timetable or last week’s attendance first often answers the question, or gives you something concrete to ask about.

What happens if my child leaves the class?

A thread can only continue while your child is linked to you and still in that teacher’s batch. Once the child leaves the batch, or the link is removed, the teacher can no longer be reached from that thread.
