Why Restored Timetables Return as Drafts for Administrative Review

Instantly restoring a deleted timetable directly to live publishing can cause sudden schedule clashes if substitute arrangements were made.

Premature live restoration causes sudden schedule conflicts

If a timetable goes live the second it is restored, students might follow it while teachers were already briefed on an alternate interim schedule.

Restore timetables safely in draft mode for administrative verification

  1. Click Restore on any deleted timetable in your institutional recycle bin.

  2. The timetable returns to the Timetables directory in 'Draft' status.

  3. Review the period slots, room assignments, and teacher availability.

  4. Toggle 'Publish' to ON only when you are completely ready to make it live.

Put it into practice

Example: Verifying a restored exam timetable before publishing

An admin restores an exam schedule, checks room hall allocations in draft mode, and publishes it once all invigilators confirm availability.

Worth checking first

  • Prevents accidental scheduling chaos from premature live publishing.
  • Gives leadership a safe staging window to audit and update slots.
