How Institutions Can Set Start and End Validity Dates on Timetables

Manually remembering to publish new timetables on the first day of term and unpublish old ones leads to scheduling lapses.

Manual term rollover creates timetable scheduling lapses

When administrators forget to update timetables on the first day of a new semester, students arrive following last semester's outdated schedule.

Configure automated start and end validity dates on schedules

  1. Open Timetables and access the schedule settings drawer.

  2. Specify the 'Valid From' start date (e.g., August 15, 2026).

  3. Specify the 'Valid Until' end date (e.g., December 20, 2026).

  4. Save the schedule; EduVetta activates and retires the timetable automatically.

Put it into practice

Example: Pre-scheduling spring semester timetables

An administrator builds the spring timetable in December, setting it to activate on January 10, ensuring an automated, seamless new-term rollout.

Worth checking first

  • Timetables outside active validity dates automatically archive to drafts.
  • Multiple timetables can be pre-built and scheduled for future academic terms.

How EduVetta helps

EduVetta supports date-bounded timetable validity, automating schedule activation and expiration across academic terms.
