How Schools Can Pause Timetable Publishing for Holidays or Term Breaks

Leaving regular weekly schedules active during exam weeks or vacations causes students to show up for regular classes when only exams are scheduled.

Active schedules during exam periods cause student confusion

When students see their normal class timetable active during exam weeks, they get confused about whether regular lectures are being held.

Toggle publishing status off to pause dashboard display seamlessly

  1. Open Timetables and select the relevant batch schedule.

  2. Toggle the 'Publish' switch to OFF and click Save.

  3. Notice how the schedule disappears from student dashboards while all slots stay saved.

  4. Toggle Publish back to ON when regular classes resume after the break.

Put it into practice

Example: Pausing regular schedules during winter break

An admin turns off publishing during a two-week winter break, reactivating the schedule with one click on the first day of the new term.

Worth checking first

  • Pausing publishing does not erase any slot data, rooms, or assigned teachers.
  • Students see a clean 'No Active Timetable' notice while paused.
