Assignment oversight for institutions

Follow classwork from task to result.

Assignments are written answers that teachers mark and comment on, so they tell you about effort as well as scores. For every assignment set to your batches, you see the due date, how many students submitted and how much is still waiting to be marked.

Why it helps

Unmarked work and missed deadlines come to your attention in the same week, when a quiet word can still fix them.

01

Due dates in view

The assignment list shows each due date next to its teacher, batch and response count. A quick scan tells you which classes are being set regular work and which have gone quiet.

02

Marking backlog made visible

Each assignment shows how many submissions are pending review. If feedback is piling up for one teacher, you can offer help before students are left waiting for their marks.

03

Who handed in

The results tab names every student who submitted, when they did and the marks given. Work that has not been marked yet is labelled, so a missing score is never mistaken for a zero.

04

Feeds the student record

Assignment scores count towards each student’s average on their institution profile and the topic analysis in Analytics. Classwork and tests are read side by side on the same student page.

From first step to follow-through

Set it up in three steps.

  1. 1

    Find the assignment

In Content, choose Assignments and narrow the list by batch, teacher or status to reach the piece of work you want.

  2. 2

    Count submissions and marks

See how many students submitted, the average score so far and the number of answers still waiting for the teacher’s review.

  3. 3

    Follow up early

Move a due date or close submissions yourself if needed, and speak to the teacher about marking that is falling behind.

What heads usually ask.

Are assignments marked automatically?

Marking and feedback come from the teacher. The dashboard shows how many submissions are still pending review, so you can tell where marking stands.

Where do heads find assignments in the dashboard?

They sit under Content, in the Assignments tab, next to tests and quiz games. A batch’s own page also lists the assignments set for it.

Do assignment results appear on a student’s profile?

Each student’s institution profile shows their assignment average and recent results. They sit alongside the student’s test and quiz game results and their attendance by batch.
